Francesca then took one summer spent in Avignon, France attending the Arts and theatre Festival and furthering her studies. Memorable performances included a Russian performance of “Hamlet”, and an hysterical French production of “ Titus Andronicus”.
The play is a little weird and gory, and the language problem so stultifying, that “Titus” actually started laughing in the last act. They also paraphrased loosely and when,at the end, the question was asked: “Where are my sons?”, the incomparable and incredible reply was actually: “Ils sont dans le QUICHE!” At which point the entire audience fell to the ground laughing so hard we were all crying. People were actually catapulted out of their seats with laughter.“ Moving briefly to San Francisco, Francesca performed several plays, including “The Comedy of Errors” and James McClure’s wonderful play “Laundry & Bourbon” and a few commercials.
